NEW DELHI: (PTI) SpiceJet has recorded the highest number of complains when it comes to all the operating domestic airlines in India. The airlines alone accounted for 330 passenger complaints in the month of January 2015.
These complaints ranged from issues arising due to slacked customer service, issues with refund or lost baggages. Giving SpiceJet competition was Air India, which registered 252 complaints with Jet Airways following closely with 229.
Maximum complaints received by SpiceJet were regarding refunds and flight problems, while Air India passengers complained most about customer service and flight problems.
Jet Airways too faced the wrath of the customers, mainly due to flight problems, and also recorded the highest number of complaints, a total of 32, for poor staff behaviour.
IndiGo on the other hand, received highest number of complains of any airlines when it comes to lost baggages. A total of 103 complaints were registered for baggage related issues against Indigo out of the 274 net received across the domestic airlines domain in India. IndiGo overall, accounted for 195 complaints with Go Air doing well to receive only 169 of them.
The newly launched airlines in Air Asia and Vistara only accounted for 15 and 2 complaints out of the 1,197 complaints across the airlines respectively.
Most of the complaints by the Jet Airways customers were related to flights, while it also received the highest number of complaints (32) on staff behaviour during January 2015.
IndiGo and GoAir received 195 and 169 complaints, respectively, during this period, while AirAsia India had 15 complaints for deficiency in services.
Tata-SIA joint venture carrier Vistara received two complaints for customer service deficiency in the very first month of its operations. Vistara launched its flight services in the country on January 9.
