British twin sisters target shoot in Syria for ISIS: report

British twin sisters who left the UK to join the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) and become “jihadi brides” have posted pictures online of them practicing target shooting, the Telegraph reported Wednesday.

In a picture of twins Zahra and Salma Halane, 17, one woman holds a pistol, while two other women are seen firing Kalashnikov assault rifles. 

“Fun day training for self defence in the Islamic state with humble sisters,” read a post on the Twitter account that posted the pictures.

The account is thought to belong to Zahra, the Telegraph reported, adding that an account thought to be Salma’s retweeted it.

Another picture showing a line of women firing their guns in what appears to be a field was also retweeted.

Zahra used the image as the background for her Twitter account, the daily said.

The twins left Chorlton, in the northwest of England, in the summer of 2014. The two then married young Islamist fighters in the Syrian town of Raqqa, the headquarters of the so-called Islamic “caliphate.”

The two later said that both their husbands had been “martyred.”

The girls’ parents attempted but failed to persuade them to return to the United Kingdom.
