First Powerful Firefox Phone Belongs To Japan

Firefox may not have had the best start in the mobile space but that doesn't mean we won't be seeing quality, well made devices ever. Intex and Spice may be one of the first names to publicly come out with their respective Firefox phones but now LG has put its name into the hat as well.

The Korean brand has come out with this exquisite Firefox phone that will give the iPhone or any HTC device, a tough fight in terms of design and execution. And compared to what we have seen with Firefox phones until now, LG wants to change that image and lay down the market for future Firefox phones.

Unfortunately, the phone's been announced nowhere close to the Indian shores and will be available to people in the 'land of rising sun' aka Japan for now. The LG Firefox OS phone, called LG Fx0 sports a 4.7 inch display with possibility of HD resolution and packing quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor that runs on the Motorola Moto G and Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G among others.

On the memory front, there's 1.5GB RAM and offering 16GB storage, expandable up to 64GB. Cameras on a Firefox phone have been bumped up for the first time to 8MP at the back and 2.1MP on the front. LG Fx0 gets backed up by a 2,370 mAh battery which makes sure the platform constraints are kept in check. Not only does this phone offer 3G, there 4G LTE on offer as well, along with other options like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and NFC among others.

Aesthetically, LG Fx0 has been designed by the creators of LG G3 smartphone and that's more than enough to understand the intricacy of design this Firefox phone has undergone. LG Fx0 embodies Mozilla's transparent and flexible philosophy with its own transparency-laden finishing. You'll find the device on the thicker side at 10.5 mm but with 148 grams, handling shouldn't be one of your concerns.

LG Fx0 is priced at JPY 50,000 (Rs 26,400 approx) and will start selling in Japan from December 25 onwards via KDDI, the country's renowned telecom operator. - gizmodo.
